How do I export my WhatsApp chats?
Open the chat. On iPhone, tap the contact or group name and scroll to Export Chat. On Android, tap the three-dot menu, More, then Export chat. Choose Without Media for a text transcript or Include Media for a ZIP containing the transcript and the attachments WhatsApp includes.
What file formats do you accept?
We accept WhatsApp export files in .txt format (text-only exports) and .zip format (exports with media). Both iPhone and Android WhatsApp exports are supported.
How long does the conversion process take?
Most supported uploads reach the free preview in under 30 seconds. A paid text or image PDF is usually ready within about 90 seconds; very large chats and voice transcription can take longer. When processing finishes, the result page and delivery email provide the download.

What's the difference between Basic, Standard, and Premium?
Basic ($7) handles up to 5,000 messages as a text-only PDF. Standard ($14) handles up to 25,000 messages and supported images. Premium ($29) removes the product message-count cap and adds participant, date-range, and monthly-separation controls. Premium + Voice ($49) adds up to eight audio hours of transcription; Power User ($99) removes that audio-duration cap for the conversion and adds priority processing.
Can I upgrade my plan after purchase?
You'll need to make a new purchase for a higher plan. Contact our support team if you need assistance with this process.

PDF Output
What does the PDF output look like?
The PDF lays out each parsed message in chronological order with its available sender and timestamp. Choose WhatsApp Classic, Clean Document, Formal / Legal, or Book Format. Check the free preview against the untouched export before paying.
Are media files included in the PDF?
Standard and higher tiers can render supported images from an Include Media ZIP inline. Other attachments may appear as references. Voice tiers can also transcribe supported audio and include a playable audio bundle.
Can I customize the PDF formatting?
All paid tiers include the four PDF styles. Standard adds image and date-grouping options; Premium and higher tiers add participant filtering, date-range selection, and optional separate PDFs by month.
Privacy & Security
How secure is my chat data?
Your upload travels over HTTPS and is processed on the ChatToPDF server. Source files and generated downloads for paid and unpaid jobs are automatically deleted within seven days. Payment and order records are retained separately where required for accounting, fraud prevention and support.
Who can access my uploaded chats?
The normal conversion is automated. Limited operational access may be needed to investigate a support or reliability issue. Voice-enabled jobs send the required audio—not the full chat transcript—to the configured speech provider. Deepgram requests opt out of model improvement and the ElevenLabs path disables provider logging. Payment details are handled by the checkout provider.
Can I delete my data immediately?
Contact privacy@chattopdf.app to request deletion. The privacy policy explains the response process, legal-retention exceptions, and the automatic file-deletion schedule.
Technical Issues
My chat file won't upload. What should I do?
Ensure the file is no larger than 150MB and is an original WhatsApp TXT or ZIP export. A ZIP must contain a usable chat transcript. If it still fails, contact support with the error text and a non-sensitive example of the timestamp format.
I didn't receive my PDF. Where is it?
Wait for processing to finish, then check the result page, email inbox, and spam folder for the download link. Very large or voice-heavy jobs take longer. If the job remains incomplete, contact support with the order confirmation number.
The PDF formatting looks wrong. Can you fix it?
Contact our support team with your order details and specific formatting concerns. We can often regenerate PDFs with corrections for technical issues.
Account & Billing
Do I need to create an account?
No ChatToPDF account is required. The service still processes the delivery email, job details, and order metadata needed to fulfil and support the conversion, as described in the privacy policy.
What payment methods do you accept?
Available methods depend on the checkout shown for your location and may include card payment or PayPal. The checkout provider processes the payment details.
Will I be charged again for the same conversion?
No, each conversion is a one-time payment. There are no recurring charges or subscription fees.
